Downloading and Using the Substitute Cheat Sheet

To download the simple Substitute Cheat Sheet guide to your computer, just follow the link at the bottom of this page.

To use the free template, start by taking a look at the items in the first column of the sheet. You need to make sure these are the items that are helpful for your classroom structure.

If you want to change any of the items, simply highlight the text and write something else to replace it. Once you have all your ducks in a row, you can start to enter the details of each item. Your list may differ if you elected to change them, but we will use the items given for an example.

Near the bottom of the template, you will see “Bathroom/ Drink Procedures.” Since the substitute will be new to your school, they may not know the system.
You would simply write if they children need to sign a pass or give a school ID in order to go to the bathroom. This way, the substitute will know what to expect.

In that same manner, you will fill out the rest of the information.

Once everything has been written to fit your classroom, click “File” and select “Print,” to print a physical copy of the sheet for your substitute teacher.
