Opening up developer tools can give you the power to do so much more with your phone than you ever dreamed possible. Even better, it’s easier that you thought too. With just a few simple steps you can enable developer tools so you can start creating with your Android phone and unleash yourself from limitations.

Steps for Enabling Developer Tools on Android

Get started today by following the simple set of instructions below.

1. Open Settings> About on your Android phone or tablet.
2. If you have the Samsung Galaxy S4 through the S7 series or the Note 8, or any other Galaxy device with Android 4.2 and above, open Settings> More tab> About and tap it.
3. If you have the Galaxy Note 3 or any Galaxy model with Android 4.3, go to Galaxy Note 3 from Settings> General> About and tap the Build version 7 times.
4. Now scroll to Build number and tap it 7 times.
5. After tapping the Build Number 7 times, you will see a message “You are now a developer!” If your phone is a Galaxy S4 or another Samsung Galaxy device with Android 4.2, you should see something like – “Developer mode has been enabled,” as confirmation.

On Galaxy S8

Next, you need to open the app menu and then the Android system settings. Now, you can scroll down all the way until you see Device information – Tap on it Next, select Software info and you will see the Build number entry in the next submenu. Tap the Build number entry 7 times until you see the message Developer options enabled.

When you enable the developer mode, you need to understand that you aren’t doing any damage to your Galaxy Phones. You will just see extra options and that is why Google hid them from us.
