How to Use the My Monthly Budget

Once you have clicked the link at the bottom of this page to download the free template to your computer, you can begin customizing the document to work for your financial situation.

When you’re ready to start editing the document you should begin in the “Expenses” and “Income” tables at the bottom of the page. As you’ve probably guessed, you will enter your various income and expenses that are recurring over the month.

You can use the examples given to you with the template and simply change the amounts as they apply to you. You can also change the categories by clicking the cell you want to change and write something new inside.

Go through and enter all your income sources and expenses in the tables with your budget and then the actual amount when you pay for them.

The template will calculate the entire amount and the differences between them and your budget to give you an overview back at the top of your page. You can see the amount you saved and the percentage your savings has increased from last month to the current one.

With a few minor adjustments to your monthly spending, you could potentially save hundreds of dollars each month that you didn’t even know you were wasting.
