How to Use the Car Mileage Calculator
Downloading the free template to your computer is as easy as following the link at the bottom of your screen.
The next step will be to enter the percentage that your company/business pays out per mile traveled. You will enter that figure in the “Trip Fuel Cost Estimator”.
Now, scroll down to the main table of the document. You can enter all your travel information for mileage in this section of the Car Mileage template. The first thing you will do is enter the date in the first column.
Once you have filled out all the required information for the first day of your trip, you will simply go about your day and finish the tasks you’ve set out to do. Remember to leave columns C, F, and G blank as these will be calculated for you at the end.
On the last day of your trip, enter the odometer reading again and well as the rest of those columns on the next row. The template will take the figures from your first and last day and give you a neat calculation of the miles you’ve traveled, your miles per gallon, and your cost per mile.
You can also scroll back to the top of the page to the “Trip Fuel Cost Estimator” to see how much you are owed. The graph to the left of that table will also display the amount you traveled and your cost per mile in an easy to read format.
